The City School successfully hosted its first flagship School Improvement and Quality Assurance (SIQA) Moot 2025 on Saturday, September 13 at Hotel Ramada, Lahore. Themed “From Reflection to Impact”, the event gathered more than a hundred school leaders, distinguished education experts, TCS Board Members and the senior management for a day dedicated to reflection, collaboration, and celebrating success.
The SIQA Moot 2025 was more than a conference—it was a decisive step towards embedding a culture of accountability and growth across the network. The particpants engaged in robust discussions on global trends, leadership development, student well-being, school culture, and the critical role of accurate self-evaluation in driving sustainable academic excellence. It helped chart a collaborative, cohesive path forward for schools operating in today’s complex educational landscape.
The event was honoured by the presence of The City School Board of Directors. In his welcome remarks, Mr. Jahangir Firoz highlighted the importance of accurate self-evaluation. “The SIQA Moot is not just an event — it is a movement to place reflection at the heart of our schools, to transform self-evaluation into purposeful action, and to ensure that academic excellence becomes a lived reality for every child at The City School” were his words that set the tone for the day.
The participants were provided with practical opportunities to translate theory into action. School heads worked in groups to reflect on their own leadership practices with respect to vision, motivation, skills, resources, and planning. These sessions moved participants beyond compliance-driven frameworks to innovation-focused reflection. Leaders shared real challenges, exchanged ideas, and co-created solutions they could take back to their schools. The exercises reinforced evaluation as a leadership mindset that strengthens accountability and enhances student outcomes.
The Moot featured internationally acclaimed keynote speakers, and a compelling panel discussion with TCS UAE leaders, each bringing unique expertise to the conversation. Together, they created a meaningful discussion from student well-being to data-driven decisions. “Focus from proving success to improving schools” was one of the powerful messages taken well by the participants.
One of the most inspiring moments was the “Celebrating Success” segment. School heads shared their own stories of school transformation—turning into thriving schools with improved ratings, better outcomes, and stronger accountability systems. Their testimonials underscored the event’s central message: School improvement is possible when leaders embrace self-reflection, evidence-based planning, and consistent implementation.
Concluding the Moot, Ms. Wajiha Daud, Head of SIQA, encapsulated the spirit of the day: “School improvement is not a one-time achievement but a continuous journey. At SIQA Moot 2025, our goal was to move beyond compliance and use monitoring and evaluation as a leadership mindset—one that drives excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth across our schools.” Her words reinforced that SIQA Moot was not a standalone event but part of a wider transformation movement within The City School network.
As the curtains closed, the atmosphere was charged with optimism. One message was clear: School leaders are the true change agents. Their courage to reflect, collaborate, and innovate is the foundation of The City School’s commitment to academic excellence.
