Possibilities

Overview

The City School believes that every child is important. We strive to develop the true potential of each child.

Our school community works together in creating a stimulating hands-on place for learning that places the physical and emotional well being of the child at the centre of a welcoming environment.

Our Aim

  • Every child matters. We are confident students will:
  • Settle quickly into our warm and caring schools
  • Be inquisitive learners in a place of joyful learning
  • Be in an environment that inspires creativity and imagination
  • Develop self-confidence and self-esteem

A Wholesome Learning Experience

Assessment

Assessment

Assessment is generally tracked informally and used in a formative manner. Various tools are used to guide improvement for each student such as:

  • Baseline
  • Student Learning
  • Portfolios
  • Student Observations
  • Phonics Assessments
  • Reading Progress Checks
Parental Involvement

Parental Involvement

Parental engagement is the basis of a strong home-school partnership. To facilitate this we believe in the following:

  • Exchanging knowledge about a child’s needs, activities, interests and progress
  • Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and Individual Parent-Teacher Meetings (IPTMs) provide an opportunity to discuss active home-learning strategies and progress in school
Blended Learning

Blended Learning

Blended learning integrates technology and digital media with traditional classroom activities allowing students to customize their learning experiences.

  • All our schools are Microsoft Schools and have MS Teams’ features, such as real-time video, collaborative space and more.
  • Our E-nursery/computer labs are integrated with curriculum-aligned applications.
  • Interactive whiteboards provide hands-on learning.
