Urdu Drama Project

Class 10 students from Darakhshan Campus, Girls Section, staged their self-scripted dramas in Urdu on 12 and 13 October 2015. The drama project was conducted under the supervision of O Level Urdu Teacher, Mr Naveed Muhammad Azeem, with the intent to hone the students’ speaking, listening and writing skills. The students were given a list of topics for their plays and then they wrote scripts while working in groups. It was encouraging to see that most of the students chose to address social issues in their performances such as illiteracy, terrorism, women’s rights and the solidarity of our armed forces.

Using simple props and costumes the students gave exceptional performances, delivering their dialogues in a confident and impressive manner. It was heartening to watch the students perform such thought-provoking dramas that highlight the problems faced by the average person in our society.
