TCSMUN’16 at Iqbal Campus, Sialkot

The three-day mega event TCSMUN’16 was organised at Iqbal Campus, Sialkot on 8 January 2016. Hundreds of students from different schools and universities including The City School, Beaconhouse, Roots School, Classic School, UMT, LAC, and Superior College participated in various activities to showcase their talent.

The first day started with the registration of all the delegates, followed by the opening ceremony by the school administration. Secretary Generals Ibraheem Ameer and Shehraz Bhatti gave eloquent speeches about the significance of the glorious event. Atia Nusrat, Head of TCS Iqbal Campus, gave a motivational address where she highlighted the role of the executive council and other directors and encouraged the delegates. Brigadier Fraz Ahmed Butt was invited as the Chief Guest for the event. He also delivered an inspirational speech and urged the students to promote such activities in the future so that they could have the confidence to face global challenges.

After that, the Global Village presentations were held where all the delegates represented the countries they had chosen for debates. The Global Village stalls and presentations were assessed and marked by the jury. The Japanese delegation scored the highest and was given the Best Presentation Award at the closing ceremony. There were several committee sessions where the delegates debated global issues and the chairs and delegates followed the decorum of UN.

The Bonfire, DG Nights, and the Live Concert by Ali Zafar and Falak Shabeer made the event unforgettable.

The MUN came to an end with an award ceremony where the best diplomats and debaters received awards and mentions. The delegation of Saudi Arabia (TCS Gulberg Campus, Lahore) secured the first position. The delegation of Canada (TCS Iqbal Campus, Sialkot) also won but did not claim the position, being the host institution.

The ceremony was attended by all the delegates along with the distinguished guests who enjoyed a delicious dinner at the end. It was indeed a wonderful experience for everyone, particularly for the management team of TCSMUN’16 who were overjoyed at the success of this informative and educational conference.
