Talent Week 2015 – Darakhshan Campus – The City School Pakistan

From 16 February to 19 February Darakhshan Campus held its second Annual Talent Week; it was welcomed with great enthusiasm by students who eagerly wanted to make their mark in different areas.

The talent show started off with a Qirat competition, which was hosted by seniors from the Boys Section. All the participants gave their best as they recited the Holy Quran, and were greatly appreciated by everyone. Osama Ejaz completed his recitation with a heartfelt ‘dua’.

Afterwards a Naat competition was hosted by Prep Boys Section, during which they paid homage to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The performances of the students were exceptional and noteworthy.

Next was the poetry recital, which was hosted by girls from the Senior Section. While most of the students recited texts of famous poets, there were a few who presented their own poetry. At the end, all the reciters were recognised for their efforts and some were noted for their exceptional retention of extensive poetry.

Junior B section hosted the singing competition, where children from the Junior Section sang cultural and old songs, which made the audience nostalgic as they sang along the participants.

Last but not least, English and Urdu essay writing competitions were held amongst the sections where students showcased their flair for writing. The efforts of all the participants were acknowledged and the judges were of the opinion that some of the essays were worthy of being published. The high quality of writing gave the judges a hard time in deciding a winner for each category of the essay contest, but as is with all competitions winners were finalised.

As the talent week came to a close, an extraordinary atmosphere of sportsmanship and the true ‘Citizen’ spirit was seen where the ones who did not win encouraged and supported the winners and acknowledged each other for their efforts. Everyone appreciated the hard work of the staff and faculty that made this event possible.
