The City Kindergarten II, SMCHS branch celebrated Grandparents Day on 26 November 2013. The event was organised to show respect and admiration for our senior citizens who have done so much for their children.
It was a unique event where grandparents of our little Citizens were facilitated by the staff and students themselves. The programme commenced with the recitation of The Holy Qur’an followed by the National Anthem and School Anthem.
It was a wonderful presentation in which children performed various songs, displaying both their talent and their love for their grandparents. It was very touching and heartwarming to see the little Citizens sharing their personal views about their grandparents.
Different activities involving the participation of grandparents were also organised including the singing of lullabies and poster making. The honoured guests were also asked to come forward for interviews which their young ones had prepared for them.
At the end, grandparents expressed their overwhelming delight with the programme. They also congratulated The City Kindergarten for taking this initiative.
Our Regional Academic Coordinator also attended the event and shared her views on the importance of grandparents in children’s lives. The programme concluded with a word of thanks by the Headmistress.
