An exciting new phase for The City School


With the PAF Chapter in Karachi and Capital Campus Islamabad now both candidate schools for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP), The City School is well on its way to providing a full range of academic choices.

The Diploma Programme is aimed at students from ages 16-19 and is an alternate route to A Levels. It is a rigorous two-year college preparatory programme that focuses on academic excellence and emphasises students’ personal development. The programme is designed to address the intellectual, social, emotional and physical needs of the students and aims to develop international minded, lifelong learners who are critical thinkers, in-depth inquirers, great team players and responsible citizens of the world. IB Diploma holders are sought after by leading universities for their unique qualities.

The schools received their candidacy status on 1 March 2016 and the authorisation process takes between two to three years. The teams that will drive forward the IB programmes in both regions are already in place, bringing with them a solid background of experience in the field of education. During the candidate phase, they will be receiving online support and training from the IB to prepare them to implement the Diploma Programme.

PAF Chapter was established in July 1997 in Karachi and is the largest campus of The City School. Located in the heart of the city, this flagship campus has a very diverse school community and a well-established reputation for excellence. It is purpose-built to include the best physical and technological facilities, as well as a swimming pool, fully equipped gymnasium, parking, sports grounds, security and emergency plans and common rooms for the student body.

Capital Campus Islamabad is also a well-established primary and secondary school from Class 1 to A Levels, with a reputation for quality education and impressive results in academic achievement. Spread over 23 kanals in a prime location, the campus has football fields, a basketball court, a volleyball court and a state-of-the-art gym facility, allowing students to excel in extra-curricular activities as part of their balanced and well-rounded education.

Both campuses will have separate IB wings for the Diploma Programme in accordance with the IB regulations, with a state-of-the-art building as well as the best technological resources and physical facilities available.
