The City School Northern Region organised an education expo titled ‘Open Day: Learning is an Adventure‘ on 22 and 23 February 2014. The event was bursting with an array of playful yet educational activities.
At the reception booth, parents and general visitors were briefed about the event and also the vision behind The City School’s Early Years Education programme. Seventeen branches from the Northern Region participated in the event where parents and their children interacted with the school staff. People from all walks of life visited our booth and witnessed live sample-teaching of subjects which imbue skills of Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication, Language and Literacy; Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy; Knowledge and Understanding of the World; Physical Development and finally, Creative Development.
The seven main branches of The City School in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad were the venues for the expo, while all the rest of the schools from various cities in the Northern Region joined in. The venues included Harley Street Branch, E-11 Campus, F-8 Nursery, I-8/2 Kindergarten, Capital Junior II, Satellite Town Nursery and Cantt Nursery Branch.
Chief Guests at the venues were Ms Ayesha Gulalai (Member National Assembly), Mr. Malik Ibrar (Member National Assembly), and Ms Hina Manzoor (Director, Confucius Institute). They visited the branches and shared stories of their own academic journeys with the students. They appreciated the management of the schools and also the talent of our Citizens.
Mrs. Itrat Rubab (General Manager, Early Years Education Northern Region) shared The City School’s aim to become the premier choice of parents by ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for their children where they could excel academically and be holistically groomed. The Chief Guests and visitors also appreciated the initiative by the Northern Region to provide Chinese language training to its students.
Renowned cricketer Mr. Sohail Tanveer was welcomed as Guest of Honour and commended the efforts of The City School Northern Region for organising the successful Open Day event.
