CAREER PATHWAY

MORE ABOUT A LEVEL PROGRAMME
Advanced Qualifications, usually known as ‘A Levels’ are internationally recognised subject based qualification which students mostly complete in two years’ time. Students after completing their O level GCSE qualification progress to A levels where the average age lies between 17 year and 18 years old. Studying A Levels in 21st century not only imparts subject based knowledge, but also helps develop many skills that are vital for students in their undergraduate study and successful careers anywhere around the world. This internationally recognised qualification is split in two years where the students give exams in two sessions: the first half of the A-level year known as AS Level whereas the second half is known as A2-Level subsequently. The final result offers the grade that represents the combined result of both years.
After subject guidance from counsellor, highly qualified and trained faculty members provide academic support to students throughout the academic year. These include in the form of regular lectures, assessments, resource materials, exam techniques of A levels question attempting and many a times, one-to-one study sessions in case of extra academic support. The seasoned and well-experienced teachers not only have subject specific training certificates in teaching A Levels, but also have experience of decades of teaching and producing exceptional results; including world distinctions by the citizens of The City School. Furthermore, the faculty and administration work together to ensure maximum learning of the students by regularly monitoring their attendance, class performance and academic assessments throughout the year. We offer a very small student-teacher ratio to provide maximum time and academic support to every student. Also, we believe that student and parent feedback contributes in forming the backbone of our successful and popular A level program. We highly value the personal satisfaction and academic success rate of our students and therefore frequently communicate with parents and students to work on their performance feedback.
In addition, our students not only do exceptionally well academically during A Levels, but also get countless opportunities to develop their skills and gather experience essential for their university application process. Such as, the school encourages students to get involved in extra-curricular activities that helps build their student profiles that complement their brilliant A level grades necessary for university admissions internationally. The counsellor and administration systematically work on every student profile and ensure to provide student specific extra-curricular opportunities. These may include public speaking, sports, debates, arts, writing, and community work along with internship programs.
Therefore, we take pride in our A-Levels program that offers not only an internationally recognised qualification but also has a well versed and experienced faculty to successfully teach A-levels along with a well-managed administrative support and extensive career counselling services for our students who have successfully pursued their studies in top universities.
The Counselling and Placement Services (CAPS) at The City school provides a platform to the career counsellor and A-Level students to frequently engage in individual and group sessions throughout the academic year. The students are provided with academic guidance, vocational guidance and countless opportunities to develop their skills and build exceptional student profiles for university admissions. In the second year of A- levels, the students are professionally assisted to work on their university applications both nationally and internationally. As a result, many of our A-Levels students have been accepted to pursue studies in top institutions worldwide based on their academic results and exceptional student profiles.
University Orientation sessions
The CAPS counsellor invites international and national university representatives to directly interact with A-Level students. This opportunity is a great way for our students to learn in depth about the university undergraduate programs, scholarships, fee structures, application requirements and career prospects.
Student Profiling at CAPS
