Why Choose International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme?

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) was introduced in 1997. It followed the introduction of the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP) – established respectively in 1994 and 1968. The IB PYP is designed to cultivate curiosity, inspire inquiry-based learning, and encourage the learners to engage with global challenges. It builds on their natural sense of wonder and transforms their learning experience through a holistic, child-centered approach.

At the heart of our programme is the IB Learner Profile, which shapes our students into inquirers, communicators, risk-takers, and principled life long learners. This profile nurtures well-rounded learners who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to the world.This programme also focuses on developing empathy, confidence, and a positive mindset, developing our learners into active contributors in their communities.

IB offers transdisciplinary teaching and learning opportunities which develops conceptual understanding leading to meaningful learning. Inquiry-Based Learning in the Primary Years Programme (PYP) focuses on students exploring and investigating questions and problems that spark their curiosity.

We help students understand diverse cultures and global issues, developing open-mindedness and help them become global citizens.

The IB PYP supports emotional, social, and academic growth, developing well-rounded learners. Students actively explore topics, ask questions, and make connections across different subjects catering to multiple learning styles.

The IB PYP nurtures strong communication skills and teamwork through group projects and discussions with the International Community.

IB PYP curriculum is built on six transdisciplinary themes that develop conceptual understanding and critical thinking in students through development of learner profiles and approaches to learning.. It integrates disciplines of Language Acquisition, Social Sciences, Numeracy, Physical Education, Performing Arts, and  Visual Art as continuous learning continuums.

We develop student agency by encouraging students to take ownership of their learning, making choices that drive their academic and personal growth.
