Decision Regarding CAIE Examinations
For Students in Class 10 (Option 1)
Decision for CAIE exams
Reasons
- There is no CAIE result available to predict grades for the subjects applicable at this level.
- Some students perform better in the CAIE exams than school based exams.
Next Steps
- Students will be transferred to class 11 as soon as schools reopen
- Students will take a month off from school to prepare for Oct/Nov 2020 exams
- Students will take Mock exams in July 2020.
- CAIE will be asked to transfer the already paid fee for Oct/Nov 2020 exams.

This option is automatic and no intimation to school is required
For Students in Class 10 (Option 2)
Decision for CAIE exams
Reasons
- Some students would like to opt for predicted grades due to their own particular reasoning.
Next Steps
- CAIE will be notified by the school
- School will share all the required information with CAIE to predict grades as per CAIE guidelines.
Timeline
For this option, a request can be forwarded to the school no later than April 10, 2020.
For Students in Class 11 (Option 1)
Decision for CAIE exams
Reasons
- Students perform better in the CAIE exams than school based exams.
- School’s predicted grades will not be final. CAIE will combine various factors other than the student performance.

- Students will be transferred to class AS as soon as schools reopen
- Students will take a month off from school to prepare for Oct/Nov 2020 exams
- Students will take Mock exams in July 2020.
- CAIE will be asked to transfer the already paid fee for Oct/Nov 2020 exams.

For Students in AS (Option 1)
Decision for CAIE exams
Reasons
- CAIE has not yet confirmed that the predicted grade for AS can be used for A-Level results next year.
- All students cannot take the burden of composite exams.
Next Steps
- Students will be transferred to class A2 as soon as schools reopens.
- One month off will be given to the students who opt for Oct/Nov 2020 CAIE exams for the preparation.
- Students will take Mock exams in July 2020 in either case. School will fully support the students in preparations for the Oct/Nov series.

For Students in AS (Option 2)
Decision for CAIE exams
Reasons
- To have undivided attention during next academic year.
- CAIE has not yet confirmed that the predicted grade for AS can be used for A-Level results next year.
- Students may perform better in the CAIE exams than school based exams.
- CAIE will also use its own means of calculating grades using their own statistical expertise and methods along with information from schools. Predicted grades will not simply be awarded on a school’s recommendation.

Reasons
- CAIE O level results are available to predict grades along with midyear and some other student work.
- Students may perform better in the CAIE exams than school based exams.
- CAIE will also use its own means of calculating grades using their own statistical expertise and methods along with information from schools. Predicted grades will not simply be awarded on a school’s recommendation.

- School will share all the required information with CAIE to predict grades as per CAIE guidelines.

Reasons
- Cambridge is yet to share a confirmed decision regarding carrying forward of AS grades from May/June 2019. This intimation is expected in the next few days from them thereby influencing any decisions taken in this regard.

- Students will take Mock exams in July 2020 before appearing in Oct/Nov.
