The Career and Placement Services (CAPS) at The City School Network is an integral part of the network’s college programme offering. A key performance indicator of any college programme, besides a strong academic backbone, is the existence of a strong career placement programme that has built its reputation upon translating academic performances and extra-curricular achievements into local and international acceptances (including a consistent trend of admissions into prominent universities from around the globe), scholarships/need-cum-merit based financial-aid offers and most importantly, a high university placement ratio.
TCS students have consistently been high achievers in CAIE A Level exams. In every region, the top students attain grades to get them into the best universities and colleges, win scholarships or access to study overseas. More than 75% of the students pass with at least 1A*/A in AS/A Level examinations. In the last year several students have gained 100% in SAT – an amazing feat, and have won world distinctions in their subjects including English Literature.
The vast majority of The City School students elect to study in Pakistan. With their excellent results, they are able to win places in the country’s leading institutions, for instance, University of Punjab, LUMS, NUST, Agha Khan, COMSATS, National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Quaid-i-Azam University, UMT, University of Engineering and Technology and International Islamic University.
The City School students are currently studying in 19 countries overseas including USA, Australia, Canada and the UK. These include the Universities of Stanford, Harvard and Oxford which are in the top 20 universities in the world.
Our focus is not simply on delivering quality education. We place equal emphasis on preparing our students to succeed and excel in their chosen fields. The goal of Career Counselling is to not only help students make the decisions they need to make now, but to give them the knowledge and skills for future career and life decisions.
Our dedicated and school-based career counsellors provide holistic career guidance and help the students make informed choices. Some of the salient features of the programme are:
- In-depth information on entry tests (SAT/TOEFL/IELTS/MCAT/ECAT/NTS).
- Guidance and assistance for university admissions and scholarships.
- Workshops by foreign and local university representatives.
- One-on-one consultation with the career counsellor to provide direction to the students.
- Alumni Speaker Series helping students to seek vital advice from distinguished alumni.
All educational institutions are judged by their end product i.e. students and the range of careers they enter. The City School alumni reflect the excellent education they receive by entering a wide variety of challenging careers such as law, medicine, information technology, engineering, teaching, music, photography, fashion, gastronomy, singing, sports, film, architecture, psychology, event management, acting, web development, civil service and defence.
