Maha is a proud alumnus of The City School. After completing her A Levels from Darakhshan Campus in 2004, she went on to attend Princeton University and majored in Civil and Environmental Engineering. She also did certificates in Environmental Studies and International Affairs and Public Policy from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton.
Maha conducted research in alternative energy systems at the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi. She then returned to Pakistan to work on the environmental and social impact assessment of the Thar Coal Project in 2009. She worked with Engro Foundation in their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) section and helped rehabilitate the people affected by 2010 floods at the Ittehad Model Village in Muzaffargarh. She also designed a standalone off-the-grid solar-powered system to provide electricity to the village.
Maha has recently completed her Master’s degree in Environmental Management from Yale University and is currently providing consultancy on various energy and environment projects in Pakistan. She also provides counselling services to students interested in studying abroad, which includes selecting and applying to top-ranked colleges and universities, writing personal statements, SAT guidance and interview preparation.
